The Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hosted the 3rd Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation
On 26 June 2026, the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research successfully hosted the 3rd Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation entitled "21st Century Pharmacology: From Fundamental Research to Clinical Practice."
The conference was organized by the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research and brought together representatives of leading higher education institutions, research institutes, and scientific medical centers of Uzbekistan, along with distinguished international professors, researchers, doctoral candidates, and master's students.
Among the keynote international speakers were Dr. Kamran Azim and Dr. Atif Mustafa from the Center for Genome Research, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (Pakistan). The conference also featured presentations by scholars from leading universities and research institutions in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
The event was attended by representatives of numerous leading national institutions, including the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, research institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Samarkand State Medical University, Tashkent State Medical University, Urgench State University, Karshi State University, Fergana Public Health Medical Institute, the National Biopharmaceutical Research Institute, and many other higher education and research organizations.
The conference focused on current challenges and emerging trends in pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences, including the discovery of novel biologically active compounds, investigation of their mechanisms of action, innovative drug development technologies, advances in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling, strategies for improving the efficacy and safety of clinical trials, and the growing role of pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine.
The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online participation. A total of 50 scientific abstracts submitted by national and international researchers were accepted, while 34 scientific presentations were delivered by experts representing universities, research institutes, and scientific medical centers from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan.
The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Professor Aziz Fayzamatovich Dusmatov, Rector of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research and Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The conference served as an effective platform for scientific dialogue, knowledge exchange, strengthening international academic cooperation, and presenting the latest achievements in pharmacological research.
Following the conference, participants adopted recommendations aimed at expanding international collaboration, increasing the scientific engagement of the Institute's academic staff, and strengthening cooperation with pharmaceutical companies and the Central Asian Association of Pharmacologists and Clinical Pharmacologists.
The conference once again demonstrated its importance as a respected scientific platform promoting the advancement of pharmacological science, supporting innovative research, and facilitating the translation of scientific achievements into clinical practice.
